QUARRIERS OUTCLASS BERKELEY
Kiama’s Reserve Grade hit top stride in their match against Berkeley and were all style in a 4 – 0 win on Thursday night. With half the team being in contention for First Grade positions the side had a classy look about it and dominated the match from start to
finish.
Two of the goals were classic finishes with Beringer getting a tremendous header and Cross smashing in a twenty metre volley that was still going up
when it hit the back of the net. The boys were too good and too fit against a struggling Berkeley. The difference in class was underlined considering the Quarriers played thirty-five minutes of the second half a man
short after Schofield was sent off for a foul.
His dismissal was a tragedy as he was well in the running for the Man of the Match award, which eventually went to the evergreen Brian Brown in the
forward line.
Other good players on the park for Kiama were midfield dynamo Mick Gillespie who is having a short spell from First Grade and Mick Broad and Alex Cross who both must coming back into calculations with the First Grade.
